Welcome to Ubuhle
Pronounced OO-bush-lair. A Zulu word for beautiful.
As you walk through the door you know you have entered a really special
shop. The shop assistant greets you as you walk in, there is a truly
welcome feeling. A smell of freshly cut roses and the strains of African,
Latin, or Meditteranean sounds all promise that this is a shop you will
remember.
Your sense of sight is then assaulted as you walk further into the shop.
The most beautiful and very unusual pieces of Costume Jewellery you
have ever seen. The pieces are from all corners of the world. There is a
very strong influence from Africa, as Denise Lawson, the owner of the
business was born and bred in South Africa both Denise and her husband
and their two daughters moved into the Nantwich area in 2001.
Denise had the idea of selling ethnic jewellery and rented a few shelves
from another shop keeper in a Craft Village. The two shelves grew into a
shop, and then a bigger shop until eventually, Denise moved into a
spectacular shop in Nantwich in 2006.
If you do travel into Cheshire, do make sure you stop off for a visit to this
really special gift shop. The Ubuhle experience is one not to be missed. |
